Scion IQ Is Coming To The US Early!

Iq Guide on August 18th, 2009

The reports are streaming in and the IQ will be branded a Scion and should be on sale by 2010!  I hope that the IQ hits the streets with all the flair that the concept versions are emblazoned with. Toyota needs to retain the inroads it has made into the younger demographics with its Scion brand, and with a few soft years and an aging lineup, the Scion iQ could reignite the flame for Scion and Toyota.  The market seems ripe for the plucking with plenty of copy cats coming into the game recently ( Kia Soul, Nissan Cube, Etc), but it will be a long time before we know if those are real competitors or short term claim jumpers to the young high tech small car market.

“Now it looks like the iQ will arrive by September or October of 2010. That’s a few months earlier than the previously-expected early 2011 date–and the confirmation that it’s coming is new too.” Link To Green Car Reports >>>

“Toyota’s sharp-looking and innovative iQ is already snatching up sales in the UK and Japan, offering an alternative to the somewhat pricier Smart ForTwo in the nascent urban mini-car segment. The Scion-branded version of the car has already been tipped for possible U.S. sale, but today reports are emerging that the decision may already be made - and that it could be here sooner than expected.” Link To Car Connections Article >>>

  1. I’ve been waiting for this for about a year now. Will definitely check this out at the LA AUTO SHOW. Looks good for my daily drive.

  2. What are you talking about — the show car is WAY too exaggerated and frankly ugly. The original stock version is cute and that’s the most this car can hope for. If you want a rice burner with a wing and a giant fart can, get a ‘92 Civic, and go to work…

  3. but I need a car now! Hurry UP!
