Scion iQ On Sale This September!
I have been holding on to the information for some time, I have looked around for other sources to verify the dates but I can’t find any additional news for a September launch. However, my sources are close to the action and they are telling me that the Scion iQ will be on sale in the US this September 2010 as a 2011 model. I have also been told that it will come with 10 air bags standard and will be a blend of the SEMA car and concept car visually. The starting price will be $14,900 and make it the most affordable of the Scion line up just behind the xD. Scion is banking on this little wonder to reignite its flickering brand. Despite very high ratings from consumer reports on the xD and the rest of the line up, the market has been soft. Right now it’s not clear if that is a result of the slumping economy or an aging lineup taking on new competitors and now sharing a dwindling pie. It doesn’t matter to me why they are bringing the iQ, I will be excited to see one in person!

I too am interested in purchasing the new iQ when it arrives. I bought the first Scion xB in 2004 because it was fun, funky and functional. I hate to depart with it as it has been perfect for transportation. I never owned a car more than 3 years in all my 66 years. The xB caught my eye twice when I was in Japan and after the second time there, Toyota announced the Scion xB would come to the U.S.
Any idea if the Toyota problems of late will delay the September 2010 launch of the new iQ???

Cool…I purchased a Scion tC in 2005, and it’s been one of the best automobiles I’ve ever owned. I can’t wait to see the iQ up close!
I have been waiting for this baby the news first breaked back in 2007 or 2008. I was thinking about buying the mini yaris with similiar body style, but since the IQ is coming to the USA I’m patiently waiting for theis baby instead.
