Toyota IQ In The US By Summer 2009?

This article from hybridcars.com is forecasting a US launch just after its planned European introduction In January 2009.

can i put my name on the list for this car, i did for the smart car but this looks by far the better option when can i get one.
I would love to find more about the iQ’s into. into the U.S. market.
I’ve been looking at the Smart car for a few years now, and now that
it is in the U.S., it still has a year and a half waiting list. Most
disappointing of all, it get’s only around 40 mpg, and you have to use
premium gas. I can’t believe a car that size doesn’t get at least 60 mpg on reg. gas. But I digress. I hope the iQ will not have a waiting
list,nor be over $10,000. I would buy one on the spot under these conditions. It will be because of this kind of car,and Toyota’s innovation that the big 3 automakers are going broke. It’s not rocket science. They are simply out of touch with the world. Please let me know when it’s available.
What gives? Firsst the air car from the French, and then purchased by India now IQ… Where and when can these fuel misors be pruchased?
to trferch- 10,000 ha.More like 15-18k. I heard it to be priced at about the entry Mini Cooper which may be then even past 17 as that car starts at 18+. It is to be sold as a “premium “small car ( a la Mini).
What I would like to see here is a version to compete with the MINI Cooper S…..1.5 or 1.6 twin cam,direct injected, 6spd manual, stiff suspension, sport seats,gauges, fruity exhaust…..coooool….I would be knocking on Scion’s door …..Come to think of it why are so many others so late to the Mini Cooper party if that car is selling so well? Do you notice they dont even advertise on TV? They dont have to since they are selling every one they can make. Why cant Toyota or Honda or Suzuki or ???? make a MINI competitor ( for the USA)????? Message to Toyota–Bring out a hard core sports version.
November of next year. Will be badged as a Scion. Can’t wait. Looking to be under $14,000 with lots of features is what I hear.
I am so about this car. Hopefully it will be comparable in price to the smart and offer better color choices. A car this small needs to be a visible color (like lime green or yellow).

I´ve seen 1 today, in Spain, at the first view I like it a lot, he is far far away from smart fortwo, much larger and not with that toy feeling, it realy is a car in fact, but smaller as a safe car can be.
I predict a huge world success. maybe the success that smart tried to reach and did´nt get.
